Aquedeux (pronounced a-qua-dew) is Robyn de Jager, a psytrance producer born and currently residing in South Africa. Music has always been an integral part of her life. She began playing the piano at the age of 3 and violin at the age of 11 and attended an arts high school where she studied classical music. She discovered electronic music and, more particularly, psytrance quite late in life – in 2011, during her last year at university. She immediately fell in love with this strange new music, mainly because it had perfect timing and amazing sounds she had never imagined could exist. She also found the music perfectly and wonderfully confusing. She then discovered that she could make this music with a computer, all on her own, and her destiny was decided. In 2012 she spent the year in Cape Town learning how to make psytrance under the masterful tutorship of Xatrik and since then has only gone from strength to strength as a producer. Her classical training is clearly palpable in her music, with her signature sound being characterised by elegant melodies, complex, interwoven harmonies and compelling rhythms. With her debut track Subconscious Telepathy having been released by Phonix Records in 2015, this artist’s exciting journey into the realm of sonic sorcery has only just begun and she hopes to continue to entrance and ensnare your minds & hearts with her music for a long time to come.
